About Ravenmoor Finance

Ravenmoor Finance is a broker, not a lender, with its office at 65 SW 2nd Ave, Ocala, FL 34471. We help Marion County owners choose among six funding structures and introduce requests to lending partners. We do not arrange personal, payday, car title, home or SBA loans, partners do not fund agriculture, equine operations or trucking, and we work in English only.

Borrowing questions owners raise

Can borrowed business money go to the owner?

Partners lend for business purposes, and most look closely at owner draws. Paying a reasonable salary through payroll is a business cost; taking a lump sum out of borrowed money is something most partners will not fund. Raise it on the first call.

Are LLCs eligible to borrow for the business?

Yes. Partners consider LLCs, corporations and sole proprietors alike. Partners usually want to see the entity is active in Florida's records and often ask the owners of an LLC for a personal guarantee.

Is borrowing in my own name a wise way to fund the company?

It is possible, and some very new owners do, but it puts the debt in your name and mixes personal and business finances. A business structure such as equipment financing keeps the obligation with the business. Ravenmoor keeps personal borrowing off its list entirely.

Does an advance on future sales count as a loan?

No. Through a merchant cash advance, a funder buys a slice of future receipts. No loan is involved, and the price comes from a factor rate.

Records, guides and further reading

Most questions about paperwork are covered in our guides for Florida owners, including the Florida loan guide and the Marion County business tax receipt guide. For questions tied to a sector or a decision, such as financing a second dental office or heavy equipment, see the Ravenmoor blog.
